User experience design agency, Nomensa have rated Ryanair.com the worst for web accessibility out of the top 10 travel companies. The low cost airline apparently is the worst travel company for providing their customers online with an accessible experience.
Several companies in the top ten travel websites in the UK apart from Ryanair are also falling short on accessibility. The best ones were selected as First Choice and Travelodge, even though they failed to achieve even the basic level of web accessibility.
Other travel companies looked at were lastminute.com, Easyjet, Thomson, Travel Republic, British Airways, Expedia and Thomas Cook.
Ryanair could be prosecuted under the Equality Act 2010 for Ryanair.com’s failings. Whilst customers with disabilities want low fares and fees, they also want to be able to use Ryanair.com.
